![]() Ree Drummond may never get a Michelin star, but this pioneering woman has blazed her own trail with a pinch of luck, loads of butter, and a healthy serving of determination. Fans lined up for the Pioneer Woman Mercantile Restaurant in tiny Pawhuska, Okla. "I told Ree two weeks before we opened, 'We might have lost our mind I don't know if anybody's coming to Pawhuska,'" Ladd said.īut thousands do. There, at the Pioneer Woman Boarding House, you can sleep like Ree in the hotel suites she and Ladd designed, or eat like Ree in their pizzeria, or in their huge restaurant, the Pioneer Woman Mercantile. Ree and Ladd own a prosperous chunk of downtown. "I am involved in every single dot and flower that appears on a cup," she said.Īnd then there's the transformation of tiny Pawhuska (population: 3,500) into a bona fide tourist destination. There's a Pioneer Woman magazine, and home goods at Walmart. Her recipes became so popular, she wrote a cookbook – actually five, all New York Times #1 bestsellers. "It probably would have been, 'cause there's just no way we could have survived 25 years with her not eating any steak!"įact is, you could say this all began with a recipe for steak, which Ree posted on her "Pioneer Woman" blog in 2007. Cho said, "That could have been a deal breaker." She was hardly a cowgirl she'd taken ballet and lived next to a golf course. They had grown up just an hour away from each other. "Truly he just was different than anyone that I had ever been around with before," said Ree, of the fellow she called The Marlboro Man. She also wrote a best-selling memoir that reads like a Harlequin novel, recalling her night out with friends at a bar when she saw him: "It truly was for me close to a lightning bolt.," she said.Īnd there was a lot of kissing involved? "Well, she started it," Ladd laughed. Home on the range: The Drummond family's life is documented on Ree Drummond's "Pioneer Woman" TV show. When Ladd is out herding cattle, or when she feeds the family, her camera crew is there to catch it. "She doesn't do anything half-way," said her husband.Īnd Ree's take on her singing? "It's probably good that I have a cooking show!"ĭrummond's life on the prairie is well-documented. I CANNOT WAIT TO HEAR WHAT YOU AND Walmart have to say about this, I truly wonder why you have not been sued as of yet.Drummond let loose with her uninhibited impersonation of Merman, outdoors. One of the small salad plates literally blew apart in my microwave, while trying to warm my dinner last evening, YOUR DISHES ARE STAMPED: MICROWAVE SAFE! CARE TO EXPLAIN THIS SO EVERYONE WILL KNOW THAT THEY ARE NOT MICROWAVE SAFE, KEPT THE PLATE AND PHOTOS FOR PROOF. He puchased a complete set of dishes, and several other pieces, glasses, bake dishes etc. My Son has been giving me your product for over a year for gifts, I admit they are very attractive, the crock pot for Christmas was quite nice, untill I used it and washed it and the words washed off the dial? I returned it for another one? Have not washed off this one yet. First I purchase a set of pans, used your utensils with with them, the bottoms and sides scratched and came off inside the pans, so I notified you and pitched them in the trash(saved on for proof). ![]() I know of no other way to get this incident to your company, so I will try this. Lesson learned, won't be buying anymore of your second rate Chinese junk You cannot imagine how disheartening that is. On her blog, Ree Drummond called it perfection. You are in a ranch family in this great country of ours, and I feel quite sure your husband's family did not rely on any second rate goods from China to build that ranch. Look for Ree Drummond at the Pioneer Woman Mercantile before exploring Pawhuska with this step-by-step. I really try to buy American made when possible. It's absolutely horrible! I think it's just disgraceful that you, of all people, are having all of your merchandise made in China, and yes, I did know this before I bought it, but I honestly couldn't find a quilt anywhere else with the colors I was looking for that wasn't made in China. ![]() I've always loved your show, and am subscriber to your magazine, but I've got to say, I bought a king size quilt for my bed, and that thing is junk! It's pretty junk, but it's still junk! It's nowhere close to being square, so it hangs really crooked on my bed, and on about one quarter of it, the stitching is puckered in about 10 different places, so there's no way you can smooth it out.
